One More Day in Powell River

Yesterday visited Eagle River Falls, which I suppose could be a great scenic tourist destination. Except that it is located in a runoff area for a dam, and there are warning signs about possible rising water levels. But among the locals there is more of a feeling of freedom than we have in more heavily populated areas like southern Ontario. If we had a place like this (we don't), it would be surrounded with barbed wire, admission would be charged, and rules posted against almost everything you could imagine.

  1. As confirmation, visit Big Chute Marine Railway near Parry Sound, Ontario. Last time I was there, 25+ years ago, people swam freely in the runoff area. Today it is fenced off literally with barbed wire, and dire warnings are posted all around. We just stopped there yesterday on the second last day of our trip.
